Equestrian Camp Staff

Alford Lake Camp, a residential summer camp for girls in Maine, is looking for qualified equestrian staff for this summer. We run a small English hunter/jumper riding program providing lessons primarily to beginner/ intermediate riders.  The program is geared to girls with little or no experience and emphasizes fun and gaining exposure to horses in a safe and relaxing environment. Instruction includes small group lessons (flat and small fences), trail rides around camp and stable management. Daily responsibilities include tacking/untacking/turnout and mucking stalls with campers helping! Applicants should be comfortable riding in addition to teaching as they will condition the horses who have had the winter off.

We are hiring both riding counselors who will live with campers and teach riding and stable hands who will live separate from campers and will teach riding and have extra horse care responsibilties. This can be a paid internship or simply a paid job for which we will provide references and can also be used on a resume.
