We currently have an opening for a Wildlife Specialist at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River (NAS PAX) in Maryland. This position will work as a team with a Wildlife Biologist and the Navy to alleviate wildlife threats to safe aviation that arise while supporting the missions of this installation. NAS PAX is located in a semi-rural area in St. Mary’s County minutes away from many amenities in the towns of California and Lexington Park. Located at the mouth of the Patuxent River, it has waterfront boundaries with the river and the Chesapeake Bay and is minutes away from the Potomac River. The area offers opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts within close proximity, including numerous public access areas for hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, etc. NAS PAX is also within a two-hour drive of Washington, DC, Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia, as well as Baltimore, Maryland for those who enjoy a taste of big city life, offering National Parks, Monuments and Historic Sites, fine dining, shopping, music, and numerous professional sports teams. WS has provided fulltime BASH service at NAS PAX since FY11 under the WS AWHP program.
We currently have an opening for a Wildlife Specialist at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), in Linthicum, MD. This position will work with a team of three Wildlife Specialists and a Wildlife Biologist and the Maryland Aviation Administration to alleviate human health and safety concerns and threats that arise while supporting the aviation communities at BWI and Martin State Airport. BWI is located in north Anne Arundel County minutes away from many towns and the City of Baltimore. Located short distances to Maryland’s capital in Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay and 45 minutes away from the National Mall in Washington, DC for those who enjoy a taste of big city life, offering National Parks, Monuments and Historic Sites, fine dining, shopping, music, and numerous professional sports teams. The area offers opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts within close proximity, including numerous public access areas for hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, etc. WS has provided fulltime wildlife damage management service at BWI since 2001.
