Telecommunications Specialist
- The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
- Coordinating and providing support to State and Field Offices for voice and data equipment installation and maintenance.
- Working closely with other telecommunications personnel in the design, installation, and repair of radio equipment.
- Interfacing dispatch consoles, base, repeater, and mobile radios and tone remotes.
- Developing and conducting in-house training sessions for users in the proper use and capability of the equipment.
- Reviewing radio frequency authorizations in accordance with Department and Bureau requirements, prepares requests for new authorizations as needed, and coordinates updates with assigned offices.
- Scaling radio tower heights up to 100 feet in the air to provide installation and maintenance of antennas and Coax/Heliax/Waveguide runs to radio system equipment.
- Successfully completing approved climbing performance course and obtaining/maintaining climbing certification.
