Public Relations Intern

Position Responsibilities

As a PR intern, you will assist the PR team in executing various tasks to enhance the company's public image and communication strategies. This internship provides valuable experience in public relations, media relations, and communications.

Responsibilities may include

  • Media Monitoring: Monitor media coverage and compile reports on industry trends, competitor activities, and relevant news.
  • Content Creation: Assist in writing press releases, media pitches, blog posts, social media content, and other communication materials.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers. Assist in pitching story ideas and arranging interviews.
  • Event Support: Provide support in organizing and executing events, including press conferences, product launches, and media briefings.
  • Research: Conduct research on target audiences, media outlets, and industry trends to support PR strategies.
  • Social Media Management: Assist in managing social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling posts, and engaging with followers.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties such as maintaining media lists, organizing files, and scheduling meetings.
  • Analytics: Help track and analyze PR metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
