We are currently seeking an Athletic Trainer to function as an Injury Prevention Specialist and join our team in Frederick, MD. This schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 2nd shift.

Position Overview:
The Athletic Trainer will work as an Injury Prevention Specialist to develop and implement injury prevention programs aimed at improving the health, safety, and wellness of our client members. The role will involve collaborating with the onsite medical and safety teams, conducting musculoskeletal screenings, developing functional movement programs, and providing educational resources to prevent injuries and promote overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Physical Demand Analyses, including raw data collection, video analysis, and report review to identify high-risk areas.
- Communicate regularly with the onsite PH Medical Team and Client Safety Team regarding injury prevention strategies and countermeasures.
- Attend meetings and contribute to task forces as necessary.
- Develop and provide guidelines to address flexibility, strength, and conditioning limitations to prevent injuries.
- Conduct group and individual training sessions focusing on functional movement, job-specific simulations, and wellness programs (e.g., Stretching Programs, Lift Labs).
- Educate and assist client members with early symptom management techniques for musculoskeletal discomfort.
- Perform musculoskeletal screenings and assessments to determine next steps for injury prevention and care.
- Provide basic first aid following OSHA standards to minimize recordable incidents.
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with on-site medical providers.
- Complete administrative duties, including necessary forms, reports, and timely EMR documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited athletic training education program.
- Board Certified Athletic Trainer (per state requirements, BOC certification).
- Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification may be required based on contract scope.
- Specialty certifications (e.g., Orthopedic Specialty) preferred.
Experience:
- Experience in Occupational Health and Safety, with knowledge of current OSHA regulations preferred.
- Experience in Ergonomics is a plus.
