The Controller’s (Accounting) team within Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our team, this upcoming Summer 2025 in Palatka, FL. This will be a 12-week onsite, in-person internship opportunity that runs from late May to mid-August 2025.

Our Team
The GP Controllers Organization is comprised of multiple teams that are working together to enable well-informed business decisions for our business partners. Our Accounting team plays a pivotal role in upholding the financial accuracy and integrity of our organization.
What You Will Do
This is a project-based internship where your project will be based on a real business need that will be determined closer to your start date. Regardless of what project you will be working on, you'll be immersed in a dynamic environment where you'll review and analyze financial statements, champion process enhancements and standardization, and actively engage in knowledge sharing. You'll communicate key financial insights, tackle complex challenges, drive issue resolution, support our audit processes, collaborate closely with diverse business units, and leverage advanced ERP/General Ledger systems. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a variety of ad hoc projects that propel our business forward.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Have an interest in accounting
- Able to work at our Palatka, FL facility and have an interest in working at that facility full-time upon graduation
- Process Mindset: Ability to understand and follow accounting processes, with an eye for identifying and implementing process improvements
- Analysis Skills: Analytical skills with the capacity to interpret financial data and reports
- Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices
- Economic Thinking: Familiarity with economic concepts and the ability to apply economic reasoning
- Partnership: Ability to collaborate effectively, demonstrating strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Analyze Data, Draw Insights, Create Recommendations: Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to extract insights and make well-founded recommendations for action
- Eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2026
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
- Enrolled in an accounting, finance, or related college degree or alternative program. (e.g., 4-year university, 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.)
