Management Associate, Mine Planning

We are seeking a Management Associate to join our Mine Planning team in Indianapolis, IN and Dallas, TX.  The Management Associate program is a unique opportunity for a select group of recent college graduates to jump-start their career by gaining cross-functional experience and developing transferrable skills at an accelerated pace. This rotational program includes job rotations, training and executive mentorship.  Upon successful completion of the program, and based on interest, aptitude and business need, the Management Associate and company will collaborate to identify the best full-time position.

Responsibilities: 

  • Successfully complete the job requirements associated with (Production, Geology, Mine Planning) over typically a 24-month period, in addition to all program training requirements.
  • Actively learn the role requirements of each rotational assignment, deliver strong project and/or task performance, and leave your mark on the team by delivering lasting improvements
  • Work with operations management and other operation services groups to develop short, mid-range, and life-of-mine plans for mining sites.
  • Monitor and track mining progress, identifying and addressing deviations and recommending reconciliation plans
  • Assist with drilling and exploration operations; locate project exploration holes and assist with geologic logging and quality samplingDigitize and analyze geological data to help develop geologic models and maps
  • Collaborate with project and cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems, learning and applying continuous improvement methodologies to deliver desired business results
  • Transform data into information, information into insights, and insights into value creation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization, including internal customers and peers
  • Support other strategic initiatives, projects, and questions as assigned by The Company
  • Perform all activities in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values, and in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and Code of Ethical Business Conduct

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, or geology
  • Experience utilizing Carlson or Maptek Mining software programs
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD, GIS applications, and Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Superb time management and judgement skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated with the ability to work productively in both individual and group settings
  • Through strategic thinking, manage and create easy to follow plans to guide both mining team and site for planning and development
  • Regular travel to operations required to assist the operations teams in achieving established goals. Out of town travel required.
