Intern - Finance Analytics

This is a 12-week internship in our Edina, Minnesota office that is scheduled to begin on 1/6/2025. Contribute to our data-driven culture through analytics, enhanced reporting and decision support. Assist with transforming millions of records of transactional data into intuitive and actionable dashboards for management. 

KEY FUNCTIONS: 

  • Assist with reporting on operating results, primarily using SQL, Tableau and Excel.
  • Assist with financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Assist with collaboration to build, maintain, and improve the existing business intelligence and analytics tools.
  • Assist with updates and maintenance of SQL tables and Tableau dashboards for Finance Analytics team.
  • Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco’s Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Gain first-hand experience with business analytics tools such as SQL, Tableau and Excel – and learn how to provide business insights based on data.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Completed or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree (sophomore level and up) required.
  • Major in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Business analytics, financial analysis, business intelligence, and/or data science coursework or experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Tableau preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
