Our Professional Services Procurement Office is seeking a Senior Business Coordinator to join our team. This position will oversee daily business functions and support successful program delivery, while providing excellent customer service.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for:
 

  • Procurement - Develop, coordinate, and oversee Division or District specific contracts that support the delivery of the core program. Review invoices and vouchers, make payments and reconcile data.

     
  • Fiscal and Budget - Coordinate financial and budgetary activities for assigned work unit. Prepare budgets, monitor expenditures, reconcile data, and prepare reports.

     
  • Administrative and Business Support - Provide a variety of administrative support functions to assigned work unit. Interpret a variety of VDOT, State and Federal policies and procedures in daily work tasks. Support Division with making timely updates to VDOT / division website.
  • Perform duties as assigned. - Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as assigned

 

Required skills:
 

  • Knowledge of procurement principles and practices.

     
  • Skill in the use of computers and web-based systems including electronic procurement and financial management systems.

     
  • Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices.

     
  • Skilled with MS Office specifically Excel.

The position you are applying for is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than an average of 29 hours a week and cannot exceed 1500 hours during their employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave.
 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Skill in the use of computers and web-based systems including electronic procurement and financial management systems.

     
  • Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.

     
  • Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices.

     
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups.

     
  • Knowledge of procurement principles and practices.

     
  • Ability to research, analyze, format financial data and prepare reports and recommendations.

     
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

 

Additional Considerations

  • Knowledge of federal and state accounting principles and practices.

     
  • A combination of training, experience, or education in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field desired.

     
  • Prior work experience with financial management systems.

     
  • Virginia Contracting Officer (VCO).

     
  • Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA)

     
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office specifically Excel.

     
  • Experience or knowledge of VDOT’s procurement processes and procedures.

     
  • Experience maintaining website content, preferably Terminal Four (T4) content management system.
