Utilities Internship
Overview:
The Utilities division at the Port serves as the backbone of infrastructure, power delivery, and utilities administration for the Seaport, Airport, and other properties. Our team’s expertise spans accounting, engineering, power purchasing, contracting, compliance reporting, billing, and customer service.
We are seeking a summer intern who is proficient in Excel and CAD, with a basic understanding of accounting and electrical concepts. The ideal candidate is a proactive and veracious learner, eager to engage in both office-based tasks (like updating CAD drawings and developing user guides) and site-based work (such as infrastructure data collection and meter readings).
This internship offers exposure to a niche industry that integrates multiple technical disciplines, providing a unique opportunity to gain practical skills and valuable experience for career development.
Anticipated Projects:
Update CAD drawings.
Collect and collate billing and meter data.
Develop forms and user guides.
Site Work: Utility infrastructure data collection and collation. Meter readings and commissioning.

Residence: Please note you must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area during the internship period. SF/Bay Area includes nine counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.
Education: Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be currently enrolled in and attending college at the time of applying for the program. Those who have graduated from college within six months prior to the start of the program are also eligible to apply. (Latest graduation December 2024)
