Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented intern to join our climate change and immunization initiative. The intern will play an important role in supporting the development of our programming, strategy, and research aimed at mitigating and responding to the challenges climate change poses to global immunization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in global health, climate change, and data analysis, providing valuable exposure to real-world issues and non-profit program development.
Responsibilities:
- Support strategy development for climate change initiative
- Conduct data analysis to understand the correlation and impact of climate change events (e.g., floods, droughts, extreme weather) on global immunization efforts.
- Conduct secondary research on current challenges and trends relevant to global immunization, with a focus on climate change.
- Assist in drafting concept notes and proposals for new programming aimed at mitigating and responding to climate-related immunization challenges.
- Assist the program strategy team in developing a strategy to address the impact of climate change on immunization in low- and middle-income countries.
- Assist the program strategy team in its interaction with external partners and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Must be a current college student (junior, senior, masters), pursuing a degree in public health, global health, environmental science, or related fields.
- Interest in the intersection of climate change and global health.
- Experience with analyzing data on Microsoft Excel is required while familiarity with additional software such Power BI, Tableau will be preferred
- Great organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to conduct thorough secondary research on global health, climate change, and immunization trends.
- Analyze data sets to extract meaningful insights regarding the impact of climate change on health systems.
- Good attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
- Capability to assist in drafting concept notes and strategic documents.
- Great written and verbal communication skills to articulate research findings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives.
- Interest in public health issues, particularly in the field of immunization, and a commitment to making a positive impact on global health outcomes.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week from (February-May) Spring 2025
