Environmental Intern - Lake Crescent Lodge

About the Internship: 

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful energy and water conservation projects in a breathtaking natural setting. As an intern, you will collaborate with our leadership team to drive sustainability initiatives and make a difference in Olympic National Park.

 

COMPENSATION: The hourly compensation range for this position is $17.75 to $17.75.  If both numbers in the range are the same, that is that rate that will be paid.  If there is a lower number and higher number, the pay will depend on factors such as an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Partner with the leadership team to identify energy conservation measures and opportunities. 
  • Drive conservation practices through education initiatives targeted at both LCL staff and guests. 
  • Collaborate with the energy manager to support a variety of energy efficiency projects, including infrastructure and mechanical equipment improvements. 
  • Support green energy projects, including decarbonization and electrification efforts. 

Qualifications

 

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree or possessing equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to collect and analyze data accurately. 
  • Proven ability to successfully implement energy and water conservation measures. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and engage both staff and guests. 
  • Ambitious and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.  
  • Passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
