The Director of Professional Relations will play a pivotal role in elevating the recognition and prominence of our event and digital media brands by building and maintaining strategic partnerships with healthcare provider thought leaders, healthcare institutions, and other key stakeholders. Additionally, this role will involve leveraging these partnerships to identify revenue opportunities with pharmaceutical sponsors through collaborative initiatives. This position requires a dynamic, relationship-driven professional with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and proven success in cultivating partnerships that drive organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Development:
Identify, engage, and build relationships with healthcare thought leaders, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and institutions to strengthen the company’s event and media brands.
Develop strategic partnerships with healthcare organizations, academic institutions, and professional societies.
Event and Media Brand Promotion:
Collaborate with internal teams to align partnerships with the company’s flagship events and digital media platforms, ensuring content and branding resonate with target audiences.
Work with marketing teams to leverage partnerships for event attendance growth and media engagement.
Revenue Opportunity Development:
Partner with thought leaders to identify potential revenue opportunities with pharmaceutical sponsors and other industry stakeholders.
Facilitate introductions and collaborative discussions between thought leaders and sponsors to explore mutually beneficial initiatives, such as sponsorships, grants, or educational collaborations.
Align identified opportunities with the company’s strategic goals and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the primary liaison between the company and healthcare provider thought leaders, ensuring strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
Facilitate and manage KOL participation in advisory boards, speaker engagements, editorial contributions, and promotional initiatives.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to increase brand visibility and credibility in the healthcare provider community.
Monitor industry trends to identify emerging thought leaders and innovative institutions for potential collaboration.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
Work closely with internal teams, including event planning, marketing, content development, and sales, to align partnership efforts with business objectives.
Mentor and lead a small team, if applicable, to ensure effective relationship management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, healthcare administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in professional relations, business development, or a similar role in the healthcare, media, or event industries.
Established network within the healthcare provider and institutional space.
Proven track record of building and managing strategic partnerships, including driving revenue growth through collaborations.
Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape, particularly in oncology, hematology, or other relevant specialties.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel for events and meetings as needed.
