Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic is assigned to night shift.  The position is paid $32.31 per hour plus an additional night shift premium.  Health and welfare benefits begin on date of hire, there is a perfect attendance award, and an annual bonus.

 

Job Duties:

  • Must actively participate in Bunge’s Employee Proactive Safety Program
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees
  • Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment using mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
  • Responsible for maintaining all automation throughout the facility (electric circuits of 480VAC or less)
  • Troubleshoot and repair high voltage lighting, variable frequency drive (VFD) and alternating current / direct current (AC/DC) systems
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blue prints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, locate, test, identify, or diagnose electrical malfunction and then adjust, repair, or replace.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facility.
  • Calibrate and/or troubleshoot process instrumentation
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
  • Perform welding including light fabrication of equipment and parts
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and remove material and equipment from job site
  • Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned
  • Perform movement of materials while using mobile equipment to company safety standards
  • Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.

 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Millwright experience is preferred.
  • Proficiently read and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and safety and quality training and processes. 
  • Familiar with scales, augers, cooking mill, and other like equipment related to the milling processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.
  • Previous work in a milling facility is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP maintenance software a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work on-call as needed.
