About the Role:
A business analyst Intern at Thaddeus will be responsible for a range of administrative, technical, and professional tasks. This position requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, goal-driven, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. The intern will gain valuable experience in communication, performance, and collaboration with professionals, clients, and outsourced entities.
This internship is unpaid, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution.
Responsibilities:
- Requirement Analysis and Documentation: Conduct thorough requirement analysis by collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear and concise documentation. This documentation will serve as a guideline for project implementation and decision-making processes.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from various sources and perform thorough analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to the organization's goals.
- Reporting and Presentation: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies based on data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
- Project Support: Assist in project management tasks, including creating timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring project deliverables are met.
- Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Collaborate with development teams to define test cases and execute testing procedures to ensure the quality and functionality of software solutions. Additionally, assist in conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that the developed solutions meet user requirements and expectations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, gather requirements, and support decision-making processes.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and tools related to business analysis, testing methodologies, and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in Buddy System: Engage in our buddy system to facilitate a smooth integration into the team and enhance your learning experience through mentorship.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with data analytics and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of SQL or other database querying languages.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Familiarity with project management and collaborative documentation Tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello)
- Previous internship or coursework in business analysis or related fields.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain practical experience in data analysis, business intelligence, requirement analysis, documentation, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Develop skills in translating data, requirements, and testing procedures into actionable insights and clear documentation for decision-making and quality assurance.
- Learn project management principles and techniques.
- Enhance communication and collaboration skills through cross-functional teamwork.
Time Commitment:
- Must be available to work 15 hours per week VIRTUALLY
- Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
- Weekly All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9 AM - 10 AM PST
- Weekly Operations Meeting: Thursdays 2 PM - 3PM PST
- Must be able to commit to this 6-month internship
