
Tulsa Regional Tourism Summer Internship (Apply by 03/05/2025)
Embark on a dynamic summer internship program with our Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) and gain diverse experience across key departments: Events and Experience, Marketing and Communication, Sports Sales, Convention and Meeting Sales, and Film, Music, Arts and Culture. This rotational program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of destination marketing while allowing interns to contribute to various facets of our organization.
This internship will begin 05/27/2025 and require working ~31 hours/week for the duration of the internship.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This internship provides individuals with hands-on experience in key areas, including event planning, marketing, sales, and cultural promotions. Interns will collaborate with partners to enhance visitor experiences, assist in executing destination events, contribute to marketing content creation, support sales efforts in attracting clients to Tulsa, and aid in initiatives promoting the city’s film, music, arts, and culture sectors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with partners to ensure an excellent guest experience in Tulsa.
- Assists in planning and execution of destination services and events with entire Tulsa Regional Tourism team.
- Contributes to content creation for various marketing channels, including social media, advertisement campaigns, and newsletters.
- Assists in curation and development of site visits.
- Supports Sports and Meeting Sales teams in sales processes relating to attracting clients to Tulsa.
- Supports initiatives related to promoting Tulsa’s offerings in film, music, arts, and culture.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be enrolled in a Hospitality and Tourism Management undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
- Requires strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to show initiative and take ownership of tasks.
- Ability to solve complex problems independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Reliable vehicle required to complete job duties
- Must be enthusiastic about destination marketing, tourism, and the cultural aspects of the Tulsa community.
WORK AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work environment: Normally a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues with occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements.
- Physical demands: Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment. Able to read, write, and interpret written documents. Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
