About the Opportunity

Are you a college student pursuing a career in golf and looking for hands-on experience in instruction? TGA of Central Hennepin & Eastern Twin Cities is hiring an Assistant Teaching Professional at Brookview Golf Course. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable coaching and business experience while working at one of the top golf facilities in the Twin Cities.

This position is ideal for students studying PGA Golf Management, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field who want to develop their instructional skills, player development techniques, and program management experience in a real-world setting.

What Makes This Role Different?

Unlike traditional golf course roles, this position is focused entirely on instruction and player development—not running a pro shop or managing daily course operations. You will have the opportunity to:
✅ Gain hands-on experience teaching private lessons, junior programs, and corporate clinics.
✅ Work under the mentorship of an experienced Head Golf Professional while developing your own coaching style.
✅ Participate in junior and adult golf programming and contribute to growing the game at all levels.
✅ Learn the business side of golf instruction, including marketing, scheduling, and player retention.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in private lessons, group clinics, and summer golf camps.
• Work with players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced golfers.
• Help lead junior programs and leagues, fostering a fun and engaging learning environment.
• Support corporate golf clinics and community events to help grow instruction programs.
• Learn and apply best practices in player development, swing mechanics, and game improvement strategies.
• Assist in marketing and promoting lesson programs through social media and local outreach.
• Participate in coaching workshops and mentorship sessions with the Head Golf Pro.

Year-Round Earning Potential:

To help extend this beyond a seasonal position, we offer additional opportunities to stay busy and paid, including:
🏌️ Simulator Relationships – We have partnerships with indoor simulators where you can continue coaching in the offseason.
⛳ TGA Junior Programs – Coach beginner and advanced junior player development programs throughout the year.
📈 Program Development – Work with us to create advanced clinics, leagues, and instructional offerings to expand golf programming.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Golf Management, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Passion for coaching and player development, with an eagerness to grow the game.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students of all ages.
• Experience with junior coaching or competitive golf (preferred but not required).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Self-motivated and proactive in growing instruction programs.
