12 Week Summer Internship
You must be an Undergraduate Student who will be a Junior or Senior in the Autumn of 2025 to be consider for this program.

NRECA’s communications and marketing department is a central hub of the association responsible for shaping external, internal and member communications and marketing efforts. The department works to tell the modern electric cooperative story, positively influence the perception of cooperatives with inside-the-beltway policymakers, elevate the organization’s brand and showcase the value of NRECA membership. Collaboration, creativity, and passion drive the team to consistently achieve success and help build a better tomorrow for electric cooperatives across the nation.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment while contributing to impactful design projects that support rural Americans. The Design Intern will work closely with our experienced team to:
Create artwork, illustrations, and infographics for both print and digital platforms.
Support the production of NRECA's monthly magazine.
Design assets for social media campaigns and other online content.
Contribute to a variety of communication-related designs, ensuring alignment with NRECA’s brand and mission.
Collaborate with team members on brainstorming sessions to bring fresh ideas to life.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Skills
Rising college junior or senior with a major in Digital Design, Communications, Marketing, or similarly relevant focus
3.0 GPA or higher (no academic or corrective action on record); transcripts must be provided
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
A creative mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
A passion for visual storytelling and an eagerness to learn from a skilled team.
Apply good judgement related to escalating issues and requesting assistance.
Organize and manage time effectively.
Pay close attention to detail and review work for quality.
Team player with good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Strong communication skills orally and in writing
