Liaison Outreach and Marketing Intern

Food Export Association of the Midwest USA is in search of an Liaison Outreach & Marketing Intern who will support outreach, recruitment, and communication efforts targeting small and medium-sized businesses. This internship offers a hands-on learning experience, allowing the intern to gain practical skills in outreach strategy, customer service management, and relationship building. Working closely with the team, the intern will assist in developing and executing initiatives to connect with business stakeholders effectively, fostering valuable professional insight and experience in a dynamic environment. Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Assists in the development and execution of outreach and communication efforts including pulling data and insights from both internal and external databases
  • Contributes to outreach content creation efforts, including writing promotional materials and editing communication documents
  • Tracks performance metrics such as inquiries and participation for specific activities important to the organization
  • Provides administrative support to the Liaison team, including organizing files, scheduling meetings, and assisting with correspondence when applicable.
  • Assists Food Export staff with writing success stories about small and medium size food and agricultural exporters.
  • Provides supplier-specific related support to the International Marketing Program, Branded, and Communications Teams as needed.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook, Excel, Word. Experience with Customer-Relations Management software such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce is a plus but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, Economics, Global Studies or a related field.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Travel:

This position does not require travel. All work will be performed at our office location.
