Design Engineer II
ADCI is looking for a Design Engineer Il to join our Production Team and will support the company's civil and environmental engineering and planning projects. The Design Engineer II will assist senior and project engineers in design development and the provision of various moderate planning, design and construction phase tasks on a range of aviation projects. The Design Engineer Il may be required to train, assign, and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Planning and designing which include horizontal and vertical geometry quantity take-offs
- Determine schedule and budget requirements for projects
- Assist with the development of grading, drainage, erosion, sediment control and pavement, and construction phasing plans
- Preparing clear and concise reports for Project and Senior Engineers
- Assignments may incorporate the performance of research, investigations, and documentation of existing site conditions to include utilities, and preparation of reports and visual aid exhibits as deemed necessary.
Education, Registration, Certification:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET/EAC accredited program
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT), preferred
- Experience:
- •2 - 4 years of engineering experience
- Airport/aviation experience is not required
Skills:
- Basic to moderate proficiency in Civil engineering/Design/CADD software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
- Basic to moderate proficiency in
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Interpret and adhere to all FAA, state, local and firm design standards.
- Basic to moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Physically able to participate in field activities, i.e. site visits and taking field measurements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on schedule-driven projects
- Written and verbal communication proficiency
- Willingness and ability to work predetermined and unscheduled hours beyond 40 hours per week, as needed. Travel may be required.
