Aviation Planning Intern

Job Summary 
Are you passionate about Urban Planning and Aviation? Landrum and Brown is seeking a 2025 Summer Intern to join our Master Planning/Facility & Operations team in Cincinnati. As an Aviation Planning Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, including large-scale airport master planning, terminal concept design, airfield design, support facilities analysis, and more. This internship offers the chance to immerse yourself in a collaborative environment, where you can expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills through hands-on meaningful work.


Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You Will Do

  • Conduct planning studies and analyze airport facilities and operations
  • Assist in developing airport facility conceptual plans (AutoCAD)
  • Develop GIS databases and mapping for airspace analyses
  • Participate in data collection and surveys
  • Coordinate and write task analysis results and reports
  • Engage client staff, attend client meetings/presentations, and establish positive relationships
  • Support peers in various task assignments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team 

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear documentation and interacting professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also able to effectively collaborate in a team environment
  • Strong commitment to integrity, consistently demonstrating ethical, fair, and responsible behavior
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous learning, with a passion for acquiring new skills and driving improvements

Your Education and Experience

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Urban Planning, or related discipline
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, GIS, SketchUp, a plus
