Summer Recreation Leader

Job Summary 

Are you ready to turn your love for the outdoors into a rewarding summer job? As part of the Adventure Recreation team, you'll lead exciting activities like high ropes courses, ziplining, climbing towers, and team-building games. You'll make unforgettable memories while gaining leadership and teamwork experience. Plus, you’ll spend your summer outside, working hard so guests can have fun!   

Essential Job Duties 

Ropes Course/Rock Wall Facilitation, laser tag course facilitation, Rec Shack (equipment rentals, retail), Cleaning heavily used restrooms, picking up trash on campus & emptying work area trash cans 

Must be encouraging and able to provide clear direction to guests and coworkers. 

Must be flexible and able to adjust to a fluid workday & responsibilities based on changing weather conditions, coworkers’ availability and guest demands. 

Must be able to take on a variety of projects, tasks and opportunities to serve our guests with excellence. 

Must be able to serve guests with grace excellence and grace. This position leads others through a variety of recreational activities and is responsible for keeping self, coworkers and guests safe at all times.  

Must be willing to learn and show proficiency in Ridgecrest’s programs according to Ridgecrest’s standard operating procedures. It is likely that Ridgecrest does not follow the same standard operating procedures as other organizations. 

Must be willing and open to learning how to manage risks in work areas and be attuned to the current weather conditions. 

Basic Qualifications 

High School Diploma or Equivalent 

Preferred Qualifications 

High Ropes Course experience preferred 

Physical Requirements  

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move 50 lbs 

Ability to perform repetitive motions daily (climbing stairs, reaching, grasping, crouching) 

Ability to work well with hands (grasp, grip, handling) 

Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours a day 

Ability to work with environmental factors such as: bees, snakes, bears, spiders, and poison ivy, along with heat, humidity, rain, noise, temperature and atmosphere changes. 

Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet
