The Navy Culinary Specialist community helps define the quality of everyday life for servicemembers. From preparing food to managing ingredients and logistics, they gain experience far beyond what’s typical in the hospitality and food service industry. Whether you’re serving fellow servicemembers on a ship or submarine, or preparing gourmet meals for dignitaries as high up as the President, your creativity as a chef can take you around the world.
• Preparing meals for notable foreign dignitaries and other distinguished guests
• Serving as a culinary specialist on the Admirals’ staff or for the commanding Officer aboard ship or at a shore station
• Organizing menus for crews aboard Navy ships and submarines
• Keeping records and financial budgets for food supplies
• Operating kitchen and dining facilities, also known as galleys
• Training with chefs skilled in cuisine from around the globe
