Job Description: Customer Visit Host Intern at JADEC Facility, Johnson Controls
Location: New Freedom, PA
Position Overview:
The Customer Visit Host Intern at the Johnson Controls Advanced Development and Engineering Center (JADEC) facility will be responsible for ensuring a positive and informative experience for visitors from the building construction industry. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and exceptional hospitality skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning: Support key marketing campaigns by understanding and developing the customer messaging required to address expressed customer pain points. Coordination of speakers to deliver the customer messaging and note-taking / summarization of the customer meeting event for the product team. Lead the organization and hosting of special events, workshops, and seminars for customers. Ensure that all logistical details are managed efficiently.
- Welcome and Orientation: Greet visitors warmly and provide an overview of the facility, including safety protocols and the agenda for their visit.
- Technical Presentations and Demonstrations: Deliver technical presentations and conduct detailed demonstrations of HVAC systems and solutions, highlighting the technical features and benefits. Answer technical questions and provide insights into the latest innovations in commercial HVAC.
- Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with visitors by understanding their needs and interests. Tailor the visit experience to align with their specific business goals and challenges.
- Facility Tours: Lead tours of the JADEC facility, showcasing key areas such as the R&D labs, testing facilities, and product showcases. Explain the significance of each area in the context of HVAC technology and building solutions.
- Coordination with Teams: Collaborate with product management, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure that all visitor interactions are seamless and informative. Coordinate with these teams to prepare customized presentations and materials for each visit.
- Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from visitors to continuously improve the visit experience. Share insights with internal teams to enhance customer satisfaction and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Technical Background: College student (at least Junior grade level) actively pursuing an undergraduate program degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor. Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Capable of handling multiple tasks and coordinating with various teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve visitor concerns promptly and effectively.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the needs of different visitors and customize the visit experience accordingly.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate student (second semester Junior or first semester Senior) working toward a degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role is highly desirable.
Benefits:
- Hourly rate of $23 per hour with a minimum work requirement of 20 hours per week up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
