· Hardware Setup and Configuration: Help set up new desktops, laptops, and peripherals (monitors, keyboards, mice, etc.), ensuring they are correctly connected and configured for use without requiring administrative privileges.
· Software Installation (Non-Admin): Install software that does not require admin rights, such as certain approved applications or user-specific tools, and ensure they are functioning correctly for end-users.
· Assistance with Printer Issues: Provide support for common printer issues, such as helping users connect to printers, clear print queues, or change default printer settings, without needing access to administrative settings.
· User Support and Training: Assist users with basic software usage, guide them through routine tasks (e.g., email setup, file organization), and offer general technical support, all without needing elevated access to their systems.
Regardless of whether this internship is in conjunction with coursework or independent of one, you will be compensated fairly. Pay rate is between $18.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on year of study. This position requires you to report in-person to our office in Lexington, South Carolina. Please note, we will strive to be flexible regarding pre-planned vacations or other obligations.
What makes us different?
We are a state governmental agency unlike any you’ve encountered before. We operate much more like a private sector business. We are a self-sustaining operation that offers rental and homeownership products and services. As a result, we face many of the same regulatory, market, and financial hurdles of private sector financial institutions. Our clear advantage to interns is that we offer challenging and meaningful work in a niche industry.
Why intern with us?
SC Housing does not offer a benefits package for part-time, temporary interns. However, our interns are compensated at a competitive, standard rate, which increases by year of study. In addition to valuable experience, you will:
- Build connections with industry professionals
