
Summer 2025 Intern – LITIGATION DIVISION/FLORIDA STAFF COUNSEL

Our summer student internship is a 10 to 14-week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August. During your internship, you’ll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. You’ll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching.
Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an AmFam Group office.
Compensation Minimum: $25.00
Compensation Maximum: $39.00
As a Litigation Division, Florida staff counsel intern, you will assist Florida staff counsel attorneys in all stages of litigation. You will report to the Florida Managing Attorney.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of our business, corporate culture and structure to support your work.
- Contribute creative ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations.
- Review of case files to assist Florida attorneys in all stages of litigation.
- Draft pleadings
- Draft discovery
- Deposition preparation and attendance (under supervision of the handling attorney)
- Legal Research
- Review of medical records, expert reports and other case documents
- Meaningful discussion of case strategy and evaluations
Requirements
- Must be in student status at an accredited Florida law school with intent to seek admittance to the Florida Bar and practice law in Florida upon graduation.
- 3rd year (3L) law students preferred but will consider 2nd year (2L) law students
- Major/program must align with internship role.
Due to the nature of this role, we are unable to consider candidates who may require visa sponsorship.
This is a primarily home role. However, candidate will be expected to meet in person with Florida staff counsel attorneys and/or Managing Attorney regularly during course of internship.
