At Wycliffe Bible Translators, your work is more than just a job. As a mobilization intern, you’ll play a vital role in advancing Wycliffe’s mission by supporting the organization’s strategy to fill strategic roles essential for Bible translation efforts. This position focuses on creating a positive and seamless service journey for all leads, including prospects, candidates and internal staff engaging in assignment discovery processes. The Mobilization Intern engages with leads through a variety of systems and communication tools to identify and communicate with potential candidates. Additionally, this role involves other administrative and operational responsibilities conducive to recruiting, sourcing, assessment, selection, placement and mobilizing of current and future workforce. 

You’ll partner with Global Workforce Services (GWS) leadership and other team members to: 

  • facilitate functions within the Workforce Mobilization workgroup 
  • actively participate in GWS team engagements to optimize team culture, cohesion, performance and outcomes

Overview of Global Workforce Services (GWS) - Workforce Mobilization 

At Wycliffe USA, we collaborate with the global church to attract, retain, resource, and support a diverse workforce dedicated to advancing Bible translation — including staff, volunteers, interns and contractors. Essential to achieving our strategic objectives and operational excellence, is our focus in sourcing, coaching, candidating and strategic placement of the existing and future workforce. We desire to collaborate with our partners in the global Bible translation movement by placing existing and new staff in strategic roles so that more people may gain access to God’s Word in their own languages and be transformed. 

At the heart of this assignment is our dedication to placing existing and new staff in strategic roles, advancing the Bible Translation movement. We’ll boldly innovate ways to fill current gaps and effectively source and encourage prospecting staff to become deeply rooted in God’s mission. As a strategic partner, we actively listen, collaboratively discern and creatively resource our partners' workforce needs. Success hinges on efficient, excellent, and simplified tasks that increase relational capital and maximize impact. Together with the Senior Director of Workforce Mobilization, this workgroup will enable new ways to engage and mobilize staff while leveraging existing resources and technological innovations. Workforce Mobilization is called to drive operational excellence, continuously improve processes to enhance the

placement of every individual of the workforce, and ensure practices are in compliance with HR best practices, organizational and governmental guidelines. 

Responsibilities

You’ll make an impact as you:

  • Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation.
  • Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation. 
  • Live out the conviction that “work flows through relationship” by passionately “loving God and loving people” through word and deed. Promote team and organizational culture standards, ensuring high customer service standards.
  • Collaborate on departmental initiatives to provide a best-in-class experience for Wycliffe USA future and existing staff. Assist with cross-functional team responsibilities, tactical teams/departmental initiatives. 
  • Represent the GWS team in meetings, projects, workshops, and partnership efforts, as assigned.
  • Work alongside the manager and other team members, to:
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries received via various communication channels and mediums. 
  • Partner with departments on recruitment and engagement strategies, including outreach to colleges and churches. 
  • Assist in developing onboarding processes.
  • Provide support on administrative and operational tasks related to the mobilization of staff.
  • Actively participate in virtual or on-site mobilization activities, as requested. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director/Director of Workforce Mobilization, Mobilization Generalists, Mobilization Manager and Vice President of Global Workforce Services.

  • Communication/Interpersonal Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to edit own work for spelling and grammar. Solid interpersonal skills in relating to people at all levels and diverse backgrounds. Ability to participate in meetings. 
  • Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment (including diverse individuals or groups), changes approach or method to best fit the situation, able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. 
  • Job Knowledge: Demonstrate desire/skills at using tools, researching, and constant learning related to job description and administrative and recruiting best practices. 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Basic skills in programs such as Google Workspace (Mail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Drive,Slides, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Workday HCM and video conferencing software such as Zoom. Ability to conduct internet research and learn new software as needed. 
    • Skilled in using social media to promote organizational initiatives, programs, and events effectively.

Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a bachelor’s program in human resources, business administration, nonprofit management, ministry or a related field.
  • Nonprofit, ministry or recruiting work experience is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with diverse staff types and ministry service is beneficial.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $18.00 -$20.00. Actual pay rate may be higher based on various factors such as qualifications, skills and experience, required training, licensure and/or certifications, budget, and allocation, if applicable. Additionally, the range for this position is based upon and considers Wycliffe’s non-profit ministry environment.
