Nurse Intern Clinical Program Consultant

The Nursing Summer Internship Program is designed to provide nursing students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in areas within the nursing field outside of hospital bed-side patient care. During the experience you will get exposure to patient care needs through the healthcare continuum, enrichment opportunities such as A Day in the Life of a Nurse Series, Enterprise Foundations, networking, and student cohort connections.

 

The Nursing Summer Internship Program is full-time, 40 hours per week for 10 weeks starting June 3, 2025.

Primary Responsibilities:
As a Nurse Intern within United Clinical Services and working on the Business Development & Implementation team, you will work under the supervision of clinical leaders and experienced RNs to observe and participate in the following:

  • Observe and assist in review of customer-specific requirements, working in collaboration with the Exception Management Team (EMT), EMT panel partners, and Enterprise Clinical Services (ECS) operational areas to facilitate discussion of requirement, UHC capabilities, potential solutions and cost for staffing analysis
  • Assist in documentation of customer-specific requirements according to BD&I templates and protocols
  • Works with internal/external partners to ensure effective implementation of customer-specific requirements 
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to optimize policies, processes, and performance
  • Observe and/or draft recommendations for improvement to leadership based on current and future end-to-end processes and criteria
  • Learn and apply appropriate application of nationally recognized clinical guidelines
  • React swiftly to challenges, changes in priority, ambiguity and uncertainty effectively
  • Confidence to participate in building and strengthening customer relationships and finding better ways to meet customer needs
  • Escalate conflicts and issues to leadership as required
  • Perform other related projects and responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited RN Bachelor’s degree program with graduation anticipated within 12 months of internship
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the duration of the summer internship program (from June 3 – August 8)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)  
  • Ability to work remotely, within a designated workspace with access to high-speed internet via cable/DSL in home setting

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA 
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of clinical terminology
