Position Overview:
The HR Intern will be responsible for building Ballin AI’s human resources infrastructure from the ground up. This includes developing and documenting policies, processes, and frameworks across all key HR areas, such as onboarding, performance management, hiring, culture, and employee engagement. This is a rare opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing company by establishing the foundation for how Ballin AI supports and develops its team. You’ll work closely with the CEO, a former HR Business Partner, who will provide guidance and mentorship to ensure high-impact results.
Responsibilities:

Policy Development: Research, create, and document comprehensive HR policies, including but not limited to:
- Termination procedures.
- Performance review frameworks.
- Benefits and leave policies.
- Employee conduct and compliance guidelines

Onboarding and Hiring Plans:
- Design and document a structured onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
- Develop a scalable hiring plan and candidate evaluation framework to support future growth.

Performance Management Systems:
- Create tools and processes for conducting employee evaluations, setting performance goals, and tracking progress.

Culture and Belonging Initiatives:
- Develop strategies and programs to foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, and engagement.
- Create guidelines for team-building activities and initiatives that align with Ballin AI’s values.

HR Compliance:
- Ensure all HR policies comply with local, state, and federal labor laws.
- Develop an employee handbook summarizing all HR policies and processes.

HR Administration:
- Build templates and workflows for key HR processes (e.g., offer letters, termination notices).

Assist in setting up a centralized system for employee records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Strong research and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a startup environment.
- Passion for creating systems and frameworks that empower teams to thrive.
- Familiarity with labor laws and HR best practices is a plus.
