Job Summary
This position is located at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Working in the Document Services Unit, this position provides administrative support so that paper and electronic documents and correspondence are easily and readily available for use and inspection. Responsibilities include preparing a variety of documents for scanning or for long-term off-site storage, tracking files, typing labels, assisting with file reviews, processing photocopy requests, reorganizing files, scanning and working on special projects as requested.
NOTE: Hours will be arranged to fit your school schedule as part-time up to (50%- 20 hours per pay week) during the school year, and full-time during the summer and school breaks.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Database skills sufficient to input and retrieve information.
Typing/Keyboarding skills to perform skilled typing tasks with speed/accuracy.
Good oral and/or written communication skills.
To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as student workers, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. As a student, you must be enrolled in high school or in a postsecondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit granting institution, he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.)
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will not sponsor applicants for work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous work experience in an office environment.
Experience with electronic file systems and software.
Working knowledge of the principles of good records management.
The ability to work independently and on a team.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet time deadlines.
