Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate AP Language and Composition Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English language studies, writing, and rhetorical analysis, along with excellent communication skills and a commitment to helping students succeed. This is a part-time, flexible position suitable for educators, graduate students, or experienced tutors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions in AP English Language and Composition.
• Develop customized lesson plans, essay prompts, and practice activities tailored to individual student needs.
• Explain rhetorical strategies, argumentation techniques, and effective essay writing methods in a clear and engaging manner.
• Guide students in analyzing non-fiction texts, developing strong thesis statements, and improving writing coherence and style.
• Assist students with homework, test preparation, and AP exam strategies.
• Track student progress and provide regular feedback to both students and parents.
• Maintain a positive, supportive learning environment that fosters student confidence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Rhetoric, Communications, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
• Previous experience tutoring or teaching AP English Language and Composition or equivalent coursework.
• Strong understanding of the AP Language and Composition curriculum and exam format.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Reliable internet connection and the ability to conduct remote tutoring sessions effectively.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with digital whiteboard tools, online learning platforms, or educational software.
• Familiarity with effective strategies for rhetorical analysis essays and synthesis essays.
