Civil Engineer (Licensed)
ZMM Architects and Engineers is currently searching for a licensed Civil Engineer to enhance our exceptional Design Team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering expert Civil Engineering drafting, calculations, and innovative designs for both Civil assignments and multidisciplinary projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research site data through various sources such as GIS, Zoning, and FEMA mapping
- Research building data, state, and local code requirements
- Interpret survey data for accuracy and verification of project
- Create conceptual plans as well as detailed, permit-ready construction drawings
- Collaborate with other design disciplines (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural) for complete project coordination
- Responsible for the coordination between various sheets of a plan set and providing neat and legible drafting, and line weight control
- Provide construction administration assistance by reviewing shop drawings, answering requests for information, and performing project site inspections
Skills and Abilities:
- BS degree in Civil Engineering
- PE registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia or ability to become licensed within 6 to 12 months
- Proficient working knowledge of land development processes and requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Civil Engineering design experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
- Motivated individual with good work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail
