About Fram Energy
Fram Energy is a New York-based startup revolutionizing solar adoption for rental properties. By solving the "split incentive" problem, our software empowers landlords to monetize onsite solar energy while reducing tenant energy bills. We are unlocking a new market segment in the solar industry, making clean energy adoption profitable and accessible for rental buildings.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Business & Energy Modeling Intern to join our team. This role will focus on developing advanced models and strategic insights to support Fram launching first projects that incorporate energy storage in key geographic markets. The intern will play a pivotal role in shaping Fram Energy’s roadmap for energy storage integration.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business cases and dynamics of solar-plus-storage across five high-potential geographic regions.
- Develop tailored versions of Fram’s financial return models, incorporating:
* Production vs. consumption patterns.
* Value creation mechanisms (solar-storage, solar-grid, storage-grid, demand-response).
* Logical dropdown options for project-specific modeling.
- Identify and evaluate potential partnerships, including compiling contact details.
- Assess technical capabilities and features needed to deliver projects successfully.
- Map out hardware options and metering considerations, including system design aspects.
- Explore opportunities for Fram's software to influence tenant behavior: Estimate potential returns and advise on implementation.
- Consolidate findings into an Energy Storage Roadmap.
Qualifications
1. Strong background in energy modeling, financial analysis, or related fields.
2. Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel or energy modeling software.
3. Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
4. Excellent communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations.
