Overview

Through our Summer Internship Program, you will gain hands-on experience in a poultry processing complex, broadening your understanding of poultry production and developing the skills necessary for long-term career success. This program is designed to provide exposure to multiple disciplines, including live production, processing, food safety, logistics, and operations management. Interns will work closely with supervisors and managers, gaining experience that aligns with future career opportunities in supervisory and management roles.

Internship opportunities are available across our processing plants, feed mills, and hatchery locations. We aim to provide interns with a well-rounded experience, ensuring they gain exposure to multiple roles within our vertically integrated poultry operations.

High-performing interns may be considered for full-time employment upon graduation in roles such as Production Supervisor, Sanitation Supervisor, Box Room Supervisor, Frontline Supervisor, or Broiler Technician. Additionally, top candidates may transition into our Management Training Program, which provides structured development for future leaders in the poultry industry.

What You’ll Do

- Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of poultry production, including live operations, feed milling, hatchery management, and processing.
- Work alongside experienced supervisors to understand operational best practices and leadership responsibilities.
- Rotate through different departments to gain exposure to hatchery operations, feed production, logistics, quality control, and production efficiency.
- Assist with process optimization, safety compliance, and food safety initiatives.
- Develop problem-solving and decision-making skills by tackling real-world challenges in production environments.
- Receive ongoing feedback and a final performance review to support professional development.

Eligibility Requirements

- Must be enrolled full-time the semester prior to the internship.
- Upcoming Sophomore to Senior-level students in good standing with a demonstrated interest in agricultural, poultry, or animal sciences.
- Successful interview and acceptance by Human Resources and the relevant facility manager.

Ideal Candidate

- Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Food Science, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Strong interest in poultry production and leadership development.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, including various shifts and production settings.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Desire to transition into a full-time supervisory or management role after graduation.
