IT and HR Systems Intern

Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Intern to join our IT – Systems and Business Solutions team! The IT and HR Systems Intern will be involved in the creation of a document management system for the Lidl US Mendix application portfolio. The role will be responsible for implementing documentation for the most complex existing HR and Purchasing applications. The Intern will create a SharePoint site to inform the business of available applications and development process.

 

*** This position reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule. ***

 

What You’ll Do
Essential Functions

  • Develop detailed test plans for various Mendix applications, collaborate with developers to understand application functionality and identify key testing areas
  • Compile and organize all relevant documentation (functional and technical specs., test plans, etc.) for Mendix applications
  • Ensure completed documentation is easily accessible and well-structured
  • Structure of the template document management systems to be used in future / ongoing Mendix projects
  • Design a SharePoint site that educates Lidl US business departments on what Mendix development can do, request development and a guide to existing applications

 

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in M364 applications 
  • Familiarity of low-code development with exposure to the software development lifecycle

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities  

  • Exposure to SharePoint, Mendix Platform, and Azure DevOps

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields at an accredited College or University
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a 3.0 or higher-grade point average

Physical Job Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
