Summary
Lidl US is searching for the next Intern to join our Operations team! The Logistics Intern will support the Operations/Processes team during data collection and data analysis. The role will assist with analyzing and standardizing processes with scalability and growth in mind. The Intern will gain hands on experience working on a project through the duration of the internship, as well as supporting the department on other initiatives.

 

*** This position reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule. ***

 

What You’ll Do

Essential Functions

  • Support revising Standard Operating Procedures for all logistics processes with management
  • Collect data regarding the time requirements for regional distribution center roles and tasks
  • Help conduct audits of warehouse procedures to ensure adherence to international and US guidelines
  • Support the development and implementation of new processes under the guidance of management
  • Conduct data analysis using Power BI and Excel
  • Support monitoring and tracking KPIs and assist in their development

 

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or in a team within an open office environment
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence software
  • Ability to commit to a full-time work schedule (40 hours per week)

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or similar field with an accredited university 
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a 3.0 or higher grade point average

Physical Job Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Travel Requirements

  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers up to 50% of the time
