Slackbot Engineer (AI/LLM) – Build V2 of a Leadership Coaching Bot

Mandala helps people in the workplace become more resilient and emotionally intelligent through science-backed, AI-powered coaching.

We’ve built a V1 of the Slackbot. We’re looking for a talented engineer to help us build V2: a smarter, more integrated, and more insightful version of our Slackbot Coach.

This is a 3-month internship with the chance to work directly with me (a founder who’s an HBS grad and former startup operator!).

🚀 What You’ll Build:

  • Robust onboarding logic (personalized vs. generic paths)
  • Weekly content drip system that can process images and GIFs (Airtable-powered)
  • Voice input processing for Slack audio
  • Google Calendar integration for contextual nudges
  • Org-facing insights dashboard (usage, sentiment, morale trends)

  • Slack SDK (Python)
  • Claude + OpenAI (chat, embeddings)
  • Railway + Postgres
  • Langfuse (prompt tracing)
  • Pinecone (vector DB)
  • Airtable (Content Management System)

👀 What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong experience building Slack apps or LLM-based tools
  • Product-minded: you think about user delight, not just functionality
  • Comfortable working independently and iterating quickly
  • Curious about behavior change, leadership, and emotional intelligence
  • Bonus: experience with Langchain, Claude, or Slack App Store submission

💰 Compensation:

$30/hour; Equity is available based on fit and commitment

🌍 Location:

Remote (Bay Area preferred, but not required)

📅 Timeline:

Start: ASAP (April 2025)

Duration: 12 Weeks

Potential for longer-term collaboration if it’s a great fit
