Internship Details
Savion is seeking a self-starting and highly motivated undergraduate or graduate student in accounting or finance from an accredited university to fill an Accounting and Finance Summer 2025 Intern position. The candidate will complete a variety of tasks while being trained and mentored by our team of accounting and finance experts. This position is open to all qualified individuals who desire to work with Savion’s dynamic accounting and finance team in our Kansas City office.

Position Responsibilities
The candidate will report to the Financial Reporting Director who is heavily involved in Savion’s accounting and financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will assist the Financial Reporting Director, Accounting team, and Portfolio Strategy and Execution team in performing their daily activities. In addition to the daily interactions with the aforementioned teams, the candidate will have regular opportunities to collaborate with Savion’s numerous subject matter experts in real estate, environmental & permitting, engineering, origination, project finance, GIS, procurement, etc. Responsibilities will include:
Assist in capital expenditure forecasting, including developing analytical tools, data validation and reporting, variance analysis, and comparison of actual results against budget
Develop and analyze financial statements on a monthly basis for management reviews
Assist in financial modeling and reporting, including cross functional work across the organization to update inputs
Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records
Assist in vendor management and invoices; assist in auditing employee expense reports
Enhance and develop communication and problem-solving skills
Assist in department procedure documentation
Participate in critical accounting projects, including the implementation of system enhancements and implement automation of reporting deliverables
Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned
Position Requirements:
At least a sophomore level undergraduate student in pursuit of a degree in Accounting or Finance.
A minimum GPA of 3.0
Working knowledge of Microsoft software - Excel, Word, Power-Point, etc. is required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and PowerBI is highly preferred.
Must have good analytical, decision-making, communication, creative problem-solving, and human relations skills.
Must be organized, self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in group settings.

Hybrid: Kansas City, Missouri Headquarters with some flexibility for hybrid work
