Overview:         

The Graphic Design Intern will collaborate closely with the Senior Design Team to create compelling graphic communication and in-store materials that align with and support GS Retail Services' brand and client initiatives.

GS Retail Services, established in 2001, is a boutique advertising agency specializing in retail strategy and design, offering innovative solutions that help brands elevate their visual presence. We work with regional, national, and international retailers across a wide range of industries to create an impactful brand experience. By collaborating with our team, you’ll gain insights into how design drives customer engagement in diverse retail environments. Our office is located in Tarentum, PA.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Senior Design Team to develop creative concepts for retail graphics, communication vehicles, advertising, and packaging.
  2. Produce high-quality final art for print and digital marketing materials.
  3. Assist in preparing and reviewing Request for Quote (RFQ) documents for design-related services.
  4. Contribute to the review and approval process for design projects, ensuring they meet brand standards.
  5. Maintain organized archives of final files for all design projects.
  6. Attend regular production update meetings to discuss project timelines, revisions, and deliverables.
  7. Archive all support and development materials related to each project to ensure proper documentation.
  8. Assist in additional duties as assigned to support the design team’s workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to juniors, but sophomores with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to collaborate with management, graphic designers, and office staff.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and 3-D rendering.
  • AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and attention to detail.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute.
  • Must be able to work in-person, in-office.

 

Internship Duration:  10-12 weeks

Start/Stop Dates:  Mid-May/Early June – Early/Mid-August; Dates are flexible depending on the student’s schedule.

Hours per Week: Minimum of 30 hours per week

Pay Scale:  $14-$16 per hour
