Volleyball Director - Southern California (with national travel required)

About Playbook: Playbook is revolutionizing sports experiences through innovative software and cutting-edge AI services, designed specifically for sports organizations, clubs, and tournaments nationwide.
Position Overview: As Volleyball Director, you will lead the development and execution of premier volleyball events, starting with the SoCal Classic Volleyball Tournament at SoFi Stadium in January 2026. You will also organize additional marquee tournaments throughout the country. Your role will focus on promoting Playbook’s software and AI services within the volleyball community, fostering strong partnerships with clubs, tournament directors, and governing bodies nationwide.
Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and operational execution for the SoCal Classic at SoFi Stadium and other national volleyball tournaments.
- Develop strategic partnerships with volleyball clubs, governing bodies, and tournament organizers.
- Actively promote Playbook's innovative software solutions and AI services within the volleyball community.
- Attend local and national events, tournaments, and conferences to strengthen relationships and represent Playbook.
- Identify opportunities for Playbook to expand its reach and influence in the volleyball ecosystem.
- Collaborate internally with Playbook's marketing, technology, and operations teams to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Strong existing network within Southern California volleyball circles.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and managing sports tournaments or large-scale events.
- Proven success in relationship management, sales, or partnership development.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-starter, capable of independent work and driven by results.
- Willingness and availability to attend frequent local volleyball events and to travel nationally 5-10 times per year.
