Industrial Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician pay ranges from $24.55 to $35.10 depending on experience and education. There is a shift premium of $.75 for 2nd and $1.75 for 3rd shift and potential for overtime.   

 

Shifts:

1st Shift hours: 6am - 3 pm

2nd Shift hours: 2:30pm - 11:30pm

3rd Shift hours: 11pm - 7:30 am

(hours subject to change)

 

There is potential to progress quickly within levels based on completed training and demonstrated skills on the job.  We have open positions for second and third shift. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The Maintenance Mechanic position has responsibilities to maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of electromechanical equipment in a food processing environment. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Must perform troubleshooting and repair, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation 

Must be able to understand technical and training manuals 

Handle and distribute cleaning chemicals and record data 

Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements 

Requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters, such as basic electrical, electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes 

Previous experience, special training, and formal education in a mechanical capacity is preferred for this outlined position.  

The position requires strong communication skills 

Perform general housekeeping duties in the department  

Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor  

Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable 

 

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

Must be willing and able to push/pull/lift up to 75 pounds  

The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, and reach 

The Team Member will climb up and down stairs and ladders 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

Minimum of one (1) year of maintenance work experience documented in the work history section of the application OR be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.  Can be a combination of employers, as long as experience documented is one (1) year.

Leveling (pay) is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.
