Event Management Lead Intern

Remote Position - College Credit (if needed) - Unpaid

Time Commitment: 6-12 Months | 10-15 hours/week (Seasonal)

General Description:
The Events Management Lead Intern will lead a team of creative, passionate Seasonal Events Management Interns at Digital4Good. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lead Intern to assist in planning and executing virtual and in-person events, including our flagship Digital4Good Summit. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event coordination, project management, and sponsorship outreach while making a meaningful impact.

Duties: 

  • Assist in planning and managing Digital4Good events, ensuring all logistical details are executed efficiently.
  • Secure sponsorships and partnerships to support events and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with speakers, panelists, and event stakeholders.
  • Develop event timelines, run-of-show documents, and task lists.
  • Track weekly hours, tasks, and event progress, reporting to the supervisor.
  • Stay within event budgets and maximize cost-efficiency.
  • Monitor event registration and attendance to ensure strong participation.
  • Collect and analyze event feedback to improve future programming.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with team members and partners.
  • Collaborate with marketing and social media teams for event promotion.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience or interest in event planning, marketing, or nonprofit work.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, and project management tools (e.g., Clickup, Smartsheet, etc) is a plus.
  • Passion for youth empowerment, social impact, and digital citizenship.

Learning Objective/Outcomes: 

Upon completion of the internship, students will be able to…

  • Identify and implement best practices for successful event management
  • Build an effective event proposal
  • Design an impactful event marketing campaign  
  • Track analytics of event campaign

Evaluation: 

  • Event Management: Work with Events Management team to organize at least 1 virtual event per month
  • Commitment: Participate in two weekly meetings and check-ins (Minimum of 75% attendance)
  • Timeliness and Organization: Track projects and meet all deadlines, or communicate with supervisor before setting new deadlines
  • Brand Integrity: Maintain organization’s brand consistency by using brand voice and designated assets in public-facing communications
  • Engagement: Accumulate points for engaging with organizational social media pages, attending workshops, attending work events, participating in marketing video/photo, filling out survey, and finishing a project/campaign
