Are you interested in learning what it takes to launch a new school year, and work alongside a passionate, mission-oriented team? As a part of our Zeta Summer Internship Program, you will gain invaluable insight into schooling by supporting our schools and staff in preparation for the launch of the 2025-26 school year.
About the Internship
Zeta Summer Interns will have a strong work ethic, be extremely dependable, and be able to manage multiple tasks at once in a strategic, organized way. You will work with and learn from a team of mission-driven, high-achieving, passionate colleagues to help Zeta succeed in its mission to build and sustain high-performing schools that forge thriving communities of lifelong learners, problem solvers, and innovators.
This internship offers the unique opportunity to learn about various aspects of preparing for a new school year, with a focus on one key functional area. You will get the chance to work with and shadow colleagues who have experience in various careers including teaching, school administration and leadership, operations, consulting, finance, etc.
Responsibilities
As a Summer Intern, you will work side-by-side with our Professional Learning team to organize and prepare Zeta for the 2025-26 school year. Help power an unforgettable professional development experience for educators by:
- Supporting the planning and execution of Summer Zeta University (SZU)—our annual summer training program for all Zeta staff
- Owning front- and back-of-house logistics, from ordering and distributing materials to setting up vibrant, well-equipped learning spaces
- Collaborating closely with the Operations Team to ensure each day of SZU runs smoothly and efficiently
- Creating a polished, service-oriented experience for staff by managing check-in and welcome processes, anticipating and resolving logistical issues in real time, and keeping communication flowing across all teams
- Playing a key role in fostering a professional learning environment that’s smooth, inspiring, and energizing for every participant
Qualifications
- Demonstrated passion for the mission, vision, and core values of Zeta Charter Schools
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving mentality and attention to detail
- Desire to work tirelessly and collaboratively in order to ensure our schools are 100% ready for staff and students heading into the 2025-26 school year
Logistics and Compensation
- This will be a full-time, in-person internship in which you will report to our Zeta Inwood school, located at 401 West 218th St, New York, NY 10034. The internship duration is 6 weeks long, from June 30th, 2025 through August 8th, 2025. Interns can expect to work 8 hours a day, with scaffolded shifts from either 7:00am - 3:00pm, 8:00am - 4:00pm, or 9:00am - 5:00pm.
- We are accepting applications from college students for this position, with a preference for current Sophomores or Juniors.
- Compensation for this position is $16.50 an hour.
