This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Commerce. This position is located at 301 N Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27601.
The primary purpose of this position is to collect, process, analyze, and edit employment, wage, industry, and location data reported by employers to ensure the accuracy and quality of state and local economic data. Key responsibilities include reviewing survey responses for accuracy, entering data into databases, contacting employers to verify responses, and researching alternative data sources to resolve discrepancies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

• Knowledge of basic research principles and methods
• Ability to collect, analyze, and assess the validity and accuracy of data
• Ability to conduct research to validate data and resolve data discrepancies, including communicating with survey respondents on the phone or by email
• Ability to use database management systems for querying and updating data
• Ability to use basic data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Completion of coursework for a four-year college degree preferably in sociology, economics, psychology or related social science, including coursework directly related to the work to be performed; or graduation from high school and four years of progressively responsible clerical experience of the kind found in statistical aides (IV) and (V), including two years in gathering, editing and reporting statistical data; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
