Position Overview:
- We are seeking an inspiring and nurturing early childhood teacher who develops students’ inquiring minds and compassionate hearts to join our talented instructional team.
- The position requires assisting the lead teacher, daily duties, professional meetings, and continual teacher development.
School Overview:
Our Lady of the Holy Souls is a vibrant Catholic school in the heart of the Hillcrest neighborhood, serving approximately 530 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, with class sizes averaging 15 to 25 children. Rooted in faith and dedicated to the belief that we learn best through discovery and rich opportunities for autonomy, we seek to form children by nurturing their individual voices, intellect, and most importantly, their souls.

Position Specifics:
- Provide leadership, energy, and spirit for students, constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individual students.
- Actively engage young students with an emphasis on our Catholic identity and have a solid understanding of child development and appropriate practices.
- Utilize developmentally appropriate practices to support each child’s executive functioning, self-regulation, and social/emotional development.
- Encourage teamwork in the classroom, teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning, and consider multiple perspectives when solving problems.
- Promote the use of multiple methods in solving problems, identifying more efficient strategies, and generalizing principles to a broad variety of applications.
- Intentionally differentiate instruction for children with a range of skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Provide students with accommodations and modifications, support, and assistance implementing them as advised by the Director of Student Learning.
- Use strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents
- Participate in collaborative planning sessions, coaching cycles, monthly staff meetings, and any multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate well with colleagues on catechism, pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment, and instructional strategies.
- Engage in positive ongoing collaboration with families.
- Facilitate formal and informal parent-teacher conferences throughout the year.
- Participate in collaborative planning sessions, coaching cycles, monthly staff meetings, and any multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Adhere to all rules, regulations, and requirements governing child care programs, as set forth by the state of Arkansas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Early childhood experience
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents
- Commitment to prioritizing Catholic education
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
- Demonstrates professionalism, including good judgment and strong integrity
