Software Engineer in Test
eMetric is a San Antonio based technology platforms provider for K-12 education. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer in Test to work on our online assessment and reporting platforms. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, approachable team player.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure software quality and functionality
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency
- Build, maintain, and execute automated end-to-end tests for APIs and Web UI
- Perform manual and automated testing to identify and document software defects
- Work closely with software developers to understand product requirements and provide feedback on testability and quality
- Review and analyze test results to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Set up and manage test environments to ensure accurate and reliable testing
- Document and track defects using bug tracking tools, and work with development teams to resolve issues
- Ensure that software meets industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices to continuously improve testing processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, other technical degree or equivalent experience
- Background check required
- This is a Hybrid position in San Antonio, TX. Team members are required to be in-office at least once per week.

- Experience with using Selenium, Playwright, and/or Puppeteer for UI automation testing
- Experience with using Postman or similar tools for API automation testing
- Experience with JavaScript, C#, HTML and Shell Scripting
- Experience with REST APIs
- Experience with Git as a version control system
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with querying SQL databases
- Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplined team with a broad understanding of Agile development practices
- Experience with testing methodologies such as TDD, BDD, and/or ATDD
- Knowledge of web accessibility and methods for testing
- Knowledge of XML and JSON as data exchange formats
