Position Summary:
Experience Grand Rapids is seeking an individual who is passionate about fostering relationships within the community through department initiatives and implementation of engagement strategies. The Program Engagement Manager (PEM) will ensure successful execution of community outreach, resident tourism partnerships, and engagement activities.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of community engagement programs and partnerships.
  2. Build partnerships with local organizations, and coordinate outreach programs, while serving as a liaison between EXGR and the community partners.
  3. Represent EXGR at public events, and collaborate on marketing content and communications to ensure consistency.
  4. Manage relationships with schools, oversee program development, support student engagement and career development, and create mentorship and resource opportunities.
  5. Assist in managing the AOHT Regional Advisory Board, coordinate meetings and communications, and help expand its influence, partnerships, and overall contribution to the growth of the Academies.
  6. Lead special projects, manage budgets, ensure policy compliance, track progress, and support strategies to grow the Academies regionally.
  7. Deliver presentations, manage stakeholder communications, and maintain alignment with EXGR’s messaging and engagement goals.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in community engagement, education, marketing, or a related field. Prior management experience is required.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  3. Skilled in building relationships with educational institutions and community leaders; experience managing educational programs preferred.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage in public speaking confidently.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  6. Committed to periodic travel for local community functions or out-of-state conventions as needed.

 

Working Conditions:

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and access to a vehicle is required. Driving is required approximately 50% of the time.
  • The typical work setting is an environmentally controlled business office with moderate noise level – weekday hours in the range of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the potential for earlier mornings, later evenings, and weekends.
