Sales Associate

May - July 2019 • Glendale, CA

What I liked

I enjoyed learning more about the sales aspect of the fashion industry. I also learned more about the importance of managing time wisely and being able to make connections with people, even with something as simple as retail and talking to customers.

What I wish was different

I would have preferred a more challenging job role as I found myself getting bored with the repetitive tasks and continuously asking customers about rewards they were not interested in.

Advice

It is important to understand your personality and the type of work environment you could thrive in because sales and retail can be a very aggressive and competitive environment.

July 2018 • Lafayette, LA

What I liked

I liked the discount that they gave. I also like how friendly the team is and how willing they are to help you out.

What I wish was different

I wish that Old Navy didn't have credit cards. The management is very firm on associates getting customers to sign up for the Old Navy credit card. This interaction with a customer can potentially be very uncomfortable.

Advice

You must be very comfortable with customer interaction and do not schedule anything too close to the time that you are scheduled to get off of work, as you may not get off right on time. This is a fun and energetic place to work.
